This necklace combines hand fabrication with the ancient Korean craft of keum-boo. Traditionally, this technique is created by applying gold foil to sterling or fine silver. Using heat and agate burnishing tools, a permanent fusion bond is created between the metals. In Korean, keum-boo means "attached gold".
